The audio attributed to Cole Palmer with criticism of Donald Trump’s presence at the Club World Cup is false.

On July 13, 2025, Chelsea became champions of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The American president, Donald Trump, awarded the prizes to the best players and joined the team’s celebration. Since then, posts that have accumulated more than 4,000 interactions on social media have shared a video in which Cole Palmer, the British club’s star, seems to criticize Trump for having “stolen all the attention” during the celebration. However, the audio was created with artificial intelligence, and the images show the attacking midfielder in unrelated contexts.

Cole Palmer draws the world’s attention for having looked sad when receiving from right-wing extremist Trump, the trophy for best player of the Club World Cup. ‘CLASS CONSCIOUSNESS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE’

The viral sequence, with audio and subtitles in Spanish, displays the message:

The content circulates after the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 13th, when Chelsea

Cole Palmer, British attacking midfielder, was
elected
The best player of the championship, and Trump, whose country will host the 2026 World Cup together with Canada and Mexico, was responsible for presenting him with the award — a golden soccer ball.

However, the viral video does not show Palmer’s statements about Trump after the game.
