The 2025 Grande Otelo Award, one of the main national awards for cinema, takes place this Wednesday (30), and celebrates the titles released in the national circuit during the past year. Previously, the award was known as the Grand Prize of Brazilian Cinema. The event, as its name suggests, pays tribute to the actor Grande Otelo (1915-1993), one of the most emblematic national artists, who marked Brazilian cinema with his performances in “Macunaíma,” “Rio, Zona Norte” and others. In total, about 30 awards will be given during the night, and the film “Ainda Estou Aqui,” by Walter Salles, is competing in 16 categories. This year’s ceremony is hosted by the actresses Isabel Fillardis and Bárbara Paz, who recall the highlights of Brazilian cinema over the years. Check the complete list of winners.
